My Logan 820 Lathe Journey

Exciting! And I see that you've reinstalled the original clutch! Can't wait to see it in action.

As I was doing the reassembly of the lathe, I noticed that one gear had a broken tooth... looking back at the photos that I took when I bought it, turns out it was like that when I got it... Had not noticed it until now.

The other thing that I need to finally get done, is to wire the motor correctly so that I have forward and reverse.

And now I need to add fixing the drawers/rails in the toolbox I modified to fit under the lathe table...

Looks like these can be repaired by simply riveting them back in place...

Okay... need help to correctly wire the motor so that I have Forward and Reverse.

This is the motor I have:

As mentioned before, at this moment, if I move the knob to F or R the motor turns forward...

I will search for the forum member that offered help... I was not ready back then but I am ready now to finish this task.

Do you let the motor slow down to the point where the centrifugal switch engages? If you switch directions before that happens it will continue rotating in the same direction

Hummmmm…. will be right back….

Yes. Spins in the same direction even after I hear the centrifugal switch… and letting it stop completely. I even tested after it was disconnected for a bit.

It needs to be wired correctly for Reverse to work.

Does this motor have 1 or 2 capacitors?
