Grizzly ran one of their big sales so I decided to take a risk and snag a collet closer and see about making it fit my lathe.
Unfortunately, while excitedly opening the nice wood box I noticed it looked like the top had been popped off before. Sure enough, the 5C collet end is missing (ugh.), the draw tube looks nothing like the picture it's black, really rough, and the front edge is also rough. And also the draw tube is full of stringy lathe chips.??
It's frustrating because I can't even start working on the fit without the 5C adapter to get overall length. Not great for my first Grizzly order. I was expecting a pretty basic collet closer, but was asking for all the major parts and not having it possibly be used too much to ask?
Anyway, seems like this kind of thing happens constantly anymore, so I'll be phoning them in the morning to start sorting it out. I assume they'll take care of this, and I'll post back once it's sorted out.
