Help me decide between Vevor 8x16 Deluxe or the LMS 7x16 HiTorque 5100

I wish I had come here and asked before I bought the crappy 3 in 1 that I got in 2003. Would have saved me a lot of grief and put me in a much better position to start out.

As it was I probably lost ten years of this hobby with that one mistake because even though I did purchase a good older American made lathe I didn’t really get into the hobby until much later.

Yeah, Vevor might be the best alternative for some. But if you have any choice at all it pays to look around for something with a better reputation and support.

If you hang around this forum a while you’ll notice a pattern with newbies purchasing one of these “kit” machines and getting frustrated by the lack of being able to do any useful work.

Some folks power through it and stick with the hobby like @DavidR8 while others get frustrated and give up.

Personally I’ll never tell anyone not to buy any machine unless it’s a Bolton.
