What Did You Buy Today?

The item description doesn't match the title. Hope you found out for sure that the item really is a 246 block. There's a field called color (select) there's no 246 there. Selecting 123 doesn't change the price. Seems dubious. Hope it works out ok.
Oh man, I think you're right. Shame on me!! Thanks, I'll cancel this. I hope.

Seemed too good to be true, didn't it? I've run into quite a few listings like this, and gave them a big pass. If the description and title don't match, at the very least send a message to the seller. If the seller says it matches the title, then maybe I will buy. At that point you have written evidence, in case there's a problem. No answer? Pass on the deal.

Yes, it's of the form "If this isn't a real diamond ring I've been gypped out of $50". Interestingly, eBay says it's now too late to cancel, have to contact the seller. It's been an hour or so. :D

Personally, I think the listing is deceptive, or wrong. Or maybe you will luck out. It happens sometimes.

Today, I received 2 pairs of 246 blocks, and they were not $50 a pair. Closer to $71.50/pair. 2 pairs of 246 blocks are surprisingly heavy. They also pack these blocks with the stinkiest oil and paper. That stuff reeks. The smell probably took 3 years off my life. Got as much of that material out of the house as I could, still smell it everywhere.

Well technically I didn't buy this, was free. A lady across the street had to go into a nursing home and they were cleaning out her garage. Her husband passed awhile back and most of the stuff was his.

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot (most?) listings on both eBay & Amazon for HHIP items that include an image of a table of options (from a website or catalog) showing options and prices, but the prices don’t match the listing price, even when shipping is extra.

Let the Seller know that you will be returning if they do not match the description (and take a screenshot of the listing): even if they don’t take returns or it says Buyer pays for return shipping, eBay should make them either pay for the return or refund and let you keep what they sent under the eBay Guarantee: I’ve run into this before where the Seller pushed back on the “no returns” and eBay fixed it.

Since eBay has been siding with Buyers lately, the Seller should be open to making things right.

Yes, good advice. I messaged the seller, and his response was that he would verify these as 246 blocks before shipment. His store has a bunch of junky consumer items, so he may have no real idea of what these are or what they are used for. Of course they are coming from China, so it will be awhile before this gets resolved.

Thanks to those who commented on my purchase...though this was a minor item I did it without much care...I clearly have to clean up my act.

well, I just came in on this, those blocks don't even screw together. Notice they have clamps on the outside holding them together. So ultra precision holes means nothing. I don't know what precision they have do you?
