Looks new!
I don't think it was used much at all. It looks new in all respects and works well. I think it will really help with wrapping my parts in foam. No tape to mess with paint.

Went Swap-meeting this morning. Spent a whole $10. I will need to clean up the rust on the worm holders and replace the vial on the small level.

Cutting oil is my blood.

so it's been since 83 there abouts since I was around one of those, and you didn't have to feed the strap over. I don't think it had the over arm.. but it could have, my memory is a little fuzzy on that.

Bought me one of those nifty CNC Bridgeports. Got it for $2500, along with a Bridgeport vice, and a CNC pallet (flat piece of steal with lots of threaded holes for mounting), and Ah-ha control system, plus an Acorn control board. I got it in excellent condition, then proceeded to dump it on its face in the driveway.

Warning: Viewer discretion is advised.

I was trying to inch it over that 1/4" lip from the driveway to the garage. It came off the trailer just fine with a couple 4x4s bolted to the bottom. A come-along attached to the Enco mill at the back of the garage made that easy enough. But, it was a couple inches too tall to get through the door with the 4x4s bolted to the bottom. In hindsight I should have taken the 3 minutes to pull the head at the turret (which I ended up having to do anyway). It's only 4 bolts and would have made it less top heavy, and an easier move to boot. I also should have had the engine lift attached, but it was seriously in the way.

Oh, well. It broke off the Y axis motor, and the spindle speed adjust knob. Neither is more than an irritating distraction to repair. It's inside now, and I'm starting the work to get the axis controls working with the current electronics, or swapping it out for modern closed-loop steppers and drivers.
That sux, at least you're ok!

Other set of 246 blocks has some scratches. Deep enough to feel it with a fingernail, which is a bit discouraging. They seem to run across both blocks on the 2x6 face, with one face having the fingernail scratch. The first set is very nice. Is there a simple way to take off the small bur? Can I use some surface ground stones for this? I have a pair. Something better? No SG in my shop.
The precision ground stones should do the job.

So this is the last of the goodies I picked up today it is full of taps and drill bits both right and left hand also taps of all kinds including metric and a bunch of chasers for a Geometric Die Head . I will be on the look out for one of them next !!!

I thought I would take a big chance on this pair of 2-4-6 blocks. 0.0001" matching for $50. Seems like the material alone is worth somewhere around there. We'll see. It does say "ultra precision", after all.

The item description doesn't match the title. Hope you found out for sure that the item really is a 246 block. There's a field called color (select) there's no 246 there. Selecting 123 doesn't change the price. Seems dubious. Hope it works out ok.
