What Did You Buy Today?

Ummm...

7, actually...

I've started a thread about them in the members projects area.

How many do you need before you can consider yourself a Hendy Lathe museum and charge an entry fee to see them? :)

Refill an 80 ft.³ customer owned oxygen cylinder. This is for my “medium torch” cart. $69.44 out the door.

Great googly moogly! I know everything has gone up, but that seems high. Admittedly, 17 yrs ago when I was selling this stuff, we had exactly 2 dollars in a 251 ox cylinder, I was happy to sell it to high use customers for 6 dollars. Crazy.

This wasn't intentional, I swear! Was watching an auction last month specifically looking to get a nice sandblast cabinet they had. I noticed this Reid HR618 with no bids so I put in a low bid barely above opening just for the heck of it...and nobody else bid. Go figure.

I've already gave it the quick "is it worth keeping" check. Its mostly good, clean underneath, near nil TIR on the spindle. But there are potentially 2 significant things that need a deeper look. I'll post a thread if/when I get into it...but fingers crossed that it'll be a good addition.

And no: I didn't get the sandblast cab because it went for absurd $$$. :bang head:

New tooling is always fun. By the looks of it, the Haas tooling is nice. The price is excellent on this package, and free shipping. This came as a ready to go setup that Haas offers. It includes the holder, pull stud, insert end mill, inserts, and tool for $150. This is hard to beat for the price.

I suspect I may end up with a 3/4 version of this insert end mill. The YG1 hydraulic chuck:

This is my first hydraulic chuck. I'm excited to see if it makes a difference on the wall finish. Another excellent bang for the buck tool. This is over $100 less than any other options I found, including Haas.

Bench centers 6x24. Made in Dayton Ohio 5-3-1954. Pretty nice shape. Now all disassembled for cleaning and painting. Stay tuned for restoration pictures. View attachment 437759

cleaned up, painted and reassembled . Reblued the knobs. Lightly stoned the scraped surfaces with precision stones. Not bad for almost 80 years old. Made by American Gage & MFG Co. Dayton Ohio.
