What Did You Buy Today?

I was just going to ask about the cam lock stud. I would back it out one turn and see where it lands.
I have gone back and forth one turn at a time. Seems like when I go one more turn the cam slips and is then way to loose. I was thinking that if I can get the shop warmer it might get easier. One of the studs is perfect the other two need like a half turn. But that is not possible. Not sure yet. Shop was in the highs 20s when I was playing around with it... I was also a little excited. Felt like a little kid.

You may be able to find a better stud/hole arrangement. Try swapping them around and see if you can get them all in the zone. You should be able to tell by looking at the ring on the stud and not have to test fit every time.

Thank you! I will give that a go!!

It's a shame that its come to this. But they are keeping signage, because they are proud of the history.

New DRO for my PM-1030V just arrived today. Not looking forward to the install, but certainly am looking forward to the utility it will provide!

Need to order some aluminum flat bar for mounting the Z axis scale. Anyone with a suggestion on thickness of the flat bar that would be sufficient to eliminate flex as an issue? I was thinking min of .500", possibly .750? TIA.

Hi,
Thanks Gentlemen, want to give a thanks to the great People at Lisle that went above and beyond...

Helping me with this Machine, even though they no longer make it or FULLY support it!

The Blueprints, Thumbscrews, and new Labels were appreciated!!!

I bought a couple of tool boxes this week...

The first one was a Craftsman...

It's old, (1958-59), but is in very good mechanical condition. This box is HEAVY! There are a few tools in it... nothing worth mentioning.

The second box is an older Husky 11 drawer roller with ball bearing slides...

Again, it's ugly, but in good mechanical condition and seems to be a well built box. It has been painted with a pink-ish primer, so a fresh coat of paint is in it's future. This box weighs almost as much as the Craftsman...

A while back, I posted about this ugly pink-primered Husky... over the last few days, I've splashed a little paint on this box, cleaned the pink overspray off the casters, and cleaned the junk out of this box...

It's a long way from being perfect, but at least it's not pink primer...
