What Did You Buy Today?

I might have scrapped the scales . These were measuring machines they junked when the plant closed . Was not interested in the readouts , but grabbed them all for 80/20 extrusion . Miles and miles of it . ( exagerated ) . I know at least 1000 lbs . I'm still breaking some of these down but sold quite a bit also .
Oh well, should you come across a usable scale with an intact reader eh?

If so , you got a good one . :encourage: Royals and Skodas are top quality .
I think I did get a real ROYAL.
This looks like what I have with the Bull Nose, the way it seats into the main body is the same. WOW.
I can't afford this if I had to buy it new. I wish I could afford the replacement tips. I would like the extra long center and the female center. $$$$$$$$

I believe Empire was the "economy" line of the Royal live centers. I do not believe it is currently in their model line. As I understand it the #4 MT, 5, & 6 Empire line had 2 precision angular contact bearings while the #2, & 3 have only 1 angular contact bearing.

The High precision quad bearing models have 3 precision angular bearings in the head, and a single needle bearing.in the supporting shaft.

The CNC High precision quad bearing models have 3 precision angular bearings in the head, a single needle bearing.in the supporting shaft., a coolant slinger, and Lock nuts to preload the bearings.

The top-of-the-line Ultimate multi-tasking model only comes with a 1 1/4" straight shaft, 2 precision angular bearings, a single needle bearing in the shaft, a coolant slinger, and a spring-loaded point

MT4 Super dual bearings looked liked this .

Hi, I'm Bart and I'm a lathe addict <group replies "Hi Bart">

I didn't need it, it was 3 hours away, but the price seemed right and I couldn't say no. This is marked as a Clausing 6913, but it's actually a 6903. I have a 6913, and had another one before that....they have 48" between centers. This has 30" between centers, making it a 6903 so I guess the person stamping the data plate just made a mistake. The seller claims there is a steady rest for it that they were using on another machine at a different location, and promised to ship it to me...we'll see if that happens. I pulled the side covers off and it all seems to be there. I'm going to pull the headstock cover and take a peek before I try powering it up. It came with a nice Bison 3-J, L00 spanner, and most of the spare parts for the hydraulic lower system other than the sheaves....slave cylinder, bearing, bearing plate, shaft those ride on, etc. There's also a spare timing belt, some clutch fingers, some Bison soft jaws, a box with a set of NOS Bison top jaws, slotted face plate, dog drive plate, a couple of import BXA holders and an unrelated set of outside jaws for a 3-jaw. So far the only thing missing I can see is the tailstock quill lock collar and handle but the shaft is there.

If it powers up and everything works I'll probably spend a lot of time getting it cleaned up/fixed up and sell it for less than Burger King wages, but I have to admit I just like working on lathes. If I find a fatal flaw in the headstock it'll be a parts machine I guess, but 6900 parts are usually in demand so I can't really get hurt either way. It'll be interesting...

Up here at my son's in CT. Visiting my DIL art gallery showing. And came across this. Not sure where to post it. Very cool. It's a moore jig grinder.
Just found out the building we were in, was the Moore tool company.
It's now a multi purpose building. More photos later.

I like that someone, besides myself, considers that a work of art. Very few can appreciate it for it's performance. I imagine the "artists" see it's physical style.
