Woke up this AM, stretched and stuck my fingers right into the ceiling fan......

I was helping a friend build a metal shed. Two of the metal side panels were stuck and my friend started hitting them with a hammer to get them apart. Well, one came flying off, hit right above my watch and sliced into my arm like a razor blade. Blood everywhere, looked like a crime scene. Oddly, I never passed out or felt light headed but gawd that was a lot of blood. I asked my friend to take me to the ER but his wife called an ambulance. I was on a rolling gurney when we got to the hospital. I told the guys I could walk fine, but they said to stay put and I'll get seen faster. A lot of stitches, a shot, and a big co-pay bill and I was sent home. I'm never building another metal shed.

I showed up at work one morning during a plant shutdown.

I wouldn’t have felt so silly if it was the first day, but it was the third day and a Friday.
Almost did that once, but turned around after I came to my senses. The incident I described occurred during an approximate 9 month period I worked 12 hour days, 8 hour Sat and Sun and 8 hours on holidays. No days off. Money was good, social life sucked. The other good thing working for that company was being completely debt free (college loans paid off) after around five years. Pretty much stayed that way ever since. Around 25 years. If I worked that much now, I think my brain might melt :)
