What Did You Buy Today?

A friend has a big tool yard sale spring and fall and I bought this little generator. I was not remembering my Ohms Law in my head when I bought it. I thought the little Hondas were 1000 watt, but they are 2000 watt. This one is 1000 watt(8.3 amps). At least in the rolling blackouts I can have coffee.
Is this one a Honda??? It's been a while since I looked at them, so maybe they have something like that.

Have the 3000W EU Honda, it's beast, but nice unit. It needed a little work 10 years into owning, but minor repair once the problem was found.

No it’s an off brand. Looks like Honda. It’s a PowerTrain. I had a Honda 2000 at work. Great generator. It flew about 75 feet in the air in a truck wreck and kept working.

If it runs, and makes power what else do you need? Honda's are great machines, but they get a premium for them. I think the 3000UE was around $1800 over a decade ago. Don't know that I'd do that now, with what's out there.

Probably better to have internally embraced the "always wear safety glasses whenever the situation calls for it" message before ending up at the hospital though, yeah?
I believe you and I are of the same era: my first shop class was in Junior High (9th grade, 13 years old): we worn safety glasses all of the time we were in the classroom and back then you got a head-slap and a trip to the Principal's Office if you didn't wear them.

well I just bought a Riten (concentric live center).
I have one already.

But oh, those fees add up. And I'm not done yet, $20 + shipping to be added. I do not understand the Hennepin county and Hennepin county transit tax. WTF. I thought NJ was high, but I guess not.

Hoping the Riten is in good shape. Here's new one.

Ah, 16 years old enough said.
Yeah, I gave myself a good jolt of 240 volts at 16, whilst poking around in the back of my cheapy guitar amp. When he heard about it and the enforced visit to A&E with my mother (I was fine, just a bit of tingling in my hand for an hour or so), my father said "Well, you won't forget to unplug something before mucking around with it". Mum, didn't see the funny side.

Only one jolt? had a few over the years, though only one was my own fault. Was trying to replace a broken light switch at night, whilst the lighting ring was live, minor 240 belt, no big deal. did not have a torch, lead-light or table lamp either.

The rest were caused by other peoples stupidity whilst I was working and in my later teens.
