What Did You Buy Today?

about a year ago my probably 15-year-old Ryobi rotary tool finally bit the dust. of course, I went and bought a brand new Dremel set to replace it. low and behold, last week the variable speed switch on my less than 1 year old Dremel tool became a one speed (wide open). didn't even get a year out of the POS. so, I ordered this set. the tool is made in Luxembourg, the accessories are made in Germany (according to the packaging). hoping for better luck with this one. I've had a tiny Proxxon metal cutting bandsaw for about 10 years and it's been flawless.

I do have a Foredom FlexShaft on the bench but having a standard rotary tool is nice when you want to grind outside or the item you're working on is too big to go on the bench.

I think you’ll like it; I’ve had the battery version for 2+ years and so far am very happy with it. Proxxon also has a tool post mount for them:

I can see why returns were discouraged. That looks like an easy design to copy.

that could be pretty handy. says unavailable but wouldn't be hard to make that.

Yes, but it’s secret is the simplicity; Keith Appleton rigged up a way to adapt the bench mount to his cross slide - I sent him that link and he bought one the next day!

Proxxon rotary tools are great. I've had a couple including my current one. I've also had Dremel and eh...well, you know. You won't regret it. ;)

Ah, I wasn't aware that they do; Proxxon accessories are really quite good. Might get one. :)

Sadly no, was scheduled for December 11th, but they had a cancellation so moved to the 5th (Orthopedic Surgeon is very busy, now booking for February).yea

And thanks!
yea, it's ridiculous out there. I have a tooth extraction, 4 1/2 months to get to the Dr. I broke a molar and it's not until the end of Jan.
And that might not even be the extraction, that might be a first visit. I don't know, we'll see.
edit: The tooth broke off above the gum, and what's left is below the gum, so my dentist can't/won't do it.

Took me 13 months to get a cardiac stress test in Olympia, WA. Dentist, also in Olympia, is usually within 8 work days, and will squeeze in a "need to be seen now."
