What Did You Buy Today?

I'd hesitate to say "fetish" since I don't worship them, but they are sometimes in the back of a drawer like a good luck charm, only brought out for special occasions.

I often wonder at my interest in acquiring tools that can measure orders of magnitude smaller than my capabilities to achieve this, and certainly my SPI Bore Gauges, which indicate out to 0.00005":

(only spent $175 on them, otherwise something like this would never be in my collection)

All of my setting rings also go out 5 significant figures to the right of the decimal point; somewhat ridiculous when checking an inside micrometer that reads to 0.001".
only $175??? where'd you steal them from? New or used?

My attempt at humor :)

I didn’t zoom in on the pair so didn’t notice: that makes a nice mixed set!

I saw during my eBay search that they came both ways and not sure which part numbers indicate the difference. My 0 - 1”/25mm is digital metric as is the 2”/50mm - 3”/75mm but I don’t know about the 1”/25mm - 2”/50mm as it’s in an unopened sealed new box (fingers crossed that I don’t need to use eBay’s guarantee).
Ah the nuances of board postings. My understanding, without double-checking the Mitutoyo catalog, is the Mitutoyo #159-101 has the imperial digital read out & metric thimble. The #159-211is the metric digital read out & imperial thimble. There are also 193 models, I haven't looked to see what the differences are.
