What Did You Buy Today?

Well that is not scary, no, not at all, it is bloody frightening!

Is that self amalgamating tape on there around the lid to act as a seal?

I think so... I've already thoroughly washed my hands...

Look what I found in the top of one of the boxes...

I wasn't expecting that... yes, it's almost full.

I had to check that mine was still where I left it:

My little bottle weighs 375gm; 100 grams of lab-grade Mercury goes for $120, so your haul is worth somewhere around $300 – $450 depending on purity (could pay for a lot of used tools). Just saw the "1 pound" on your bottle: a 1 pound bottle sells for $242 (sorry).

Not scary if you know you have it and treat it with respect. At one point I had a half-full pint Nalgene bottle of it (left over from a University project) - I had it disposed of legally.

Mine seems to eat batteries pretty quickly. Let us know how this is. I find this odd, as the calipers are really easy on batteries...
You sure it is real? Where did you get it? My Mitutoyo Quantumike is great on batteries. Bought it two maybe three years ago, original battery. Didn't Clough42 do a series on calipers? The fake one's had lousy battery life.

What is a ply measure for? I've never seen anything like this...
