What Did You Buy Today?

A few years ago, when I built my shop, my wife said I needed something on the walls besides white paint.

At some point I scored the five piece Clausing poster set of charts and diagrams and then let them sit the mailer tube for about five years.

Wife and I were at Wally World today and I picked up some cheap poster frames. I decided not to post the fifth diagram of “The Modern Engine Lathe” but it will rest behind one of these other charts until the next owner decides to open up the frame.

In the meantime it will be nice to have some “style” in the shop and a quick reference to some common tables and machining info.

you have space on your walls? I'm jealous.

I have the Vevor power feeds,on the Z axis of both mills, and the same ultra sonic cleaner along with one of their mag drills, and a few other things with no issues so far. Was doing some work on the BP today, and had to smile every time I was able to raise and lower the Z at the touch of a button instead of endless hand cranking. Will be adding Y axis PF's this winter. Just received two 39x13x10" aluminum tool boxes from them yesterday. One for the new zero turn, and one for the tongue of the camper. Very happy with the quality for $100 each. Mike
You’ve inspired me! I haven’t moved my BP clone to make room for my Lagun, and the power feed is broke. Today I machined a bushing for a friend and then machine a 10” section of 1” angle for a bracket I’m making. I wore myself out cranking the X back and forth for what seemed hours. The clone is going to the friend I made the bushing for.

While I, too have some decorative items in my shop, they are tucked into (mostly) unusable wall space

My fractions/decimals/metric chart is hung on the outside door:

EDIT: The white board (with Moe) covers a shelf where the sharpening systems - Work Sharp, Craftsman Wet Grinder and assorted oil & water stones - and assorted battery chargers.

The Lagun power feeds are made by Servo. The service parts are cheaper than a new Chinadrive. I have owned both drive units, and I'd much prefer the Servo, it's a very smooth unit. The China unit is adequate, but there's a big gap between the two.

I wasn't clear. The Lagun is fine. It's the clone I'm selling. I told my friend I'd replace the inop one. I agree, the servo feed is superior. I'm going to take another shot at fixing the one on the clone. It too is a servo. It might work on the Lagun's knee. That would be a treat!

You have walls to hang things on? Color me jealous. Have a rough stone walled basement, with granite and other hard rock. I wish I could hang things up. Makes it much harder to be organized.

But I'm thankful that I have walls at all, and the shop isn't out in the open. As I've learned, there's always folks better off than you and sadly folks that have it far worse. We have to appreciate what we have and strive for the future. It's the only way to make it through the madness called life.
