My trip to the ER this morning

From what I have read UPPP has a pretty low effectiveness rate. It works for some people, it's no where near 99% successful, at least what I read, when I looked into it.

As for tangling in hoses, I use a hose lift, which is nothing more than an elevated hose holder. It helps a bit and eliminates hose tug (due to gravity and whatever).
Claustrophobic I can't wear the mask ................................
It gets to the point it drives me nuts . I have been given 3 C PAP machine never used one of them.
I prefer oxygen

I don't blame you, it's like having an alien strapped to your face. The nasal masks are a lot better - but you need to keep your lips sealed while you sleep. But, using a CPAP (actually a Bilevel PAP) has given my life back. I traded an alien on my face in the evening for quality of life during the day... I feel so much better now, it's like I am 15 years younger.

The nasal mask stays out of the way, and may help with that. I've had obstructive sleep apnea for about 25 years now. Back then it was less well known, but the dr. at chicago rush said it was the worst they'd ever seen (some honor). I know that choking feeling well! I can't even take a nap without the mask.

Double the 2" ace wrap so it's shorter, wrap it around to keep lips closed, I use 1 clip to hold it, Ruby head band , and I use an N 20 nose mask.

I've had a CPAP with a nose only mask since 1996. It took me about 10 minutes to acclimate to it. When the power goes out at night it gets a little weird, sometimes dreaming that I can't take a deep breath, but it's never caused a real problem. Glad you got checked out!

Oh man, you did the right thing. Sleep apnea kills people.
This experience brings back terrible memories.
I think I ended up with a bipap? It was easier to breathe with that thing.
It sure sounds like a panic attack to me also. I’ve been there. 1:30 on the morning starving for air. It’s an awful feeling.
Somehow I no longer need it. I walk at least three miles a day, I keep my weight down.
The last time I had a sleep study I was told I no longer had any issues!!!
I put the machine in the closet then the fire destroyed it.
I’m sure glad those days are over.
