Amazing craftsmanship. I am in awe.

I know nothing of clocks, but after seeing this, I am interested. I take it this is a replica of a very old clock? I googled some of the words on the glass and came up with some results from the 1600's. Is this your own version? Did you follow some plans?

Hi Strantor, thank you.

The words on the glass are a reproduction of the text on the cover of the book "Horologium Oscillatorium" by Christiaan Huygens (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horologium_Oscillatorium) from 1673. This is the man who first described and built a successful pendulum clock.

My clock was built from the plans "A Small Weight Driven Tower Clock Movement" by John Wilding (http://www.clockmaking-brass.co.uk/tower clock.html).

And also, thank you for David, Nels, Firestopper, Savarin, CraigB1960 and Nel957
