Ask any woman ......................6" or 8" . In any case , nothing wrong with that 8" on a BP . As I always said

" It takes a big broom to sweep the room , but the little ones get the corners " .

I hope the only 8” “thing” you’re considering putting on the Bridgeport table is a vise. If you’re considering anything else you’re a sick person that needs some help.

As for table size mine is 9” x 42”. I’ve had both the 8” vise and the 12” rotary table mounted at the same time with plenty of room to spare.
