What Did You Buy Today?

I'm always on the lookout for high resolution indicators, and the price was pretty good on this one (It was good enough, that even if it didn't work, wasn't going to hurt too bad). It's not 20 millionths that I'm really after, but for many things this should do.

Mill Lee farm did they have a bunch of pedestal grinders and a bunch of old school manuals for machinery??
Yes! Even though this was 15 min from my house (1min from work!!!) and I never knew the business was there, I found out about it from Keith Rucker’s Instagram post about collecting manuals!
I’m headin back now to talk with the owner to make sure no leftovers are thrown out!

Finished hauling my auction load this am.
Couldn’t pass up this little Rochester pedestal grinder for $40:

Nice indicator . 50 mil ain't bad . I have a pair of the millimesses and the snap gages 0-4" I used on the cylindrical grinders .

FYI… I did NOT buy this 4foot by 8 foot cast iron surface plate with stands…..

It had sold in a previous online auction…..
For $250!!!!!!! OMG

‘Oh, the humanity!’

I would be very happy to get a German made pair like that for $5. Great deal.

The two I have suck for removing weights. Cussed them last week when mounting and balancing some new summer tires.

Yes, 50 mil is pretty good. Just have a bug to get a 20 mil yet (For a repeat-o-meter project I'd like to do). Closest so far is a 0.5um (~20mil) coming from over seas (isn't here yet). That was about 1/4 to 1/6 the cost of what some places are asking for 20 mil. The way things are going, that may be as close as I ever get!
