I bought this off of Amazon and got ready to use it yesterday and the screw is too small for the I/D of the insert. It goes all the way thru the hole. I've requested a replacement and hope it arrives correct. Anyone else have this problem? The inserts and the holder are a matched set..... 61+R6zBtPYL._SL1500_.jpg

Is it possible to modify a screw, say a SHCS to fit? Find a longer screw, so you can hold onto it, turn the head, then grind to length?

I'd be interested in the finish of this tool. Let us know how well it works once you get this sorted out.

Haven’t received any with an incorrect screw, but I have a set of CCMT 21.51 Solid Carbide Shank boring bars that take different length screws (5mm for the 5/16" bar & 6mm for the 3/8" bar), which makes it interesting when ordering spares. Once you get the correct screw, make sure they tell you what it is so you can get spares. Once I’m satisfied with a holder I order extra inserts, such as polished inserts for Aluminum, and screws. Here’s my collection:

I've been thinking more: does the screw fit the holder, or is it loose? My round-nose holder (3/8" straight shank, not necked down) uses 10mm (RPMT10T3MOE) inserts and an M4 x10mm screw; an M3.5 screw that may fit in the holder doesn't drop through the hole in the insert, but an M3 screw does drop through (and would never grab in an M4 threaded hole).

The screw seems to fit the holder okay. I will check again before i send it back. I don't have a way to measure the thread size that small.

OD of the threads and the head would be helpful, also the insert size/designation (and link to the Amazon page).
