I was in the shop making a new pulley for the lathe and really starting to feel awful. My wife comes down and asks me to test her for covid (she had stomach issues Saturday night) and then just not feeling well.

So she tells me her sister in law tested positive and they were together Thursday.
So we test her, positive... in a few minutes not even 5 minutes of the 15...
Then I test myself, positive. I am hoping this is the worst of it. It's like a really bad cold or flu.

So today is a dreamer day.. dreaming of what I want to get done.. And hoping to read a lot of stuff on here. Too drained to do anything, and really cold..

Well, I avoided it for almost 3 years.. :encourage:

Rest well.
When I had it in June it was definitely no worse than a bad cold. But I felt the lingering effects for several months.

I had it last April (got it at the Boston Marathon watching my son run) and it wasn't too bad for me, but it lingered for weeks.

My daughter was visiting last week and left on Monday not feeling well. She tested positive on the way home. So, my wife and I are keeping our fingers crossed that we don't get it. We tested ourselves twice so far and they've been negative.

Speedy recovery!!!

I had it a few weeks back, and it was very mild. Everyone is affected differently. Hope it passes quickly for the two of you. Mike

Hope you get well soon.
My wife and I both had it just before Christmas. Took about 3 weeks to get over the cough.

Do you have a vaccine on board?

It (supposedly) doesn't stop you from getting it but it will make the symptoms mild. or at the very least, keeps you from getting to the "hospital" stage.

Keep an eye out for that "long covid" BS afterwards. Sounds like a major PITA.....

I am fully vaccinated. I am hoping it keeps me from getting it real bad.
I just took a nap... Feeling a little better. This is the type of cold you had when you were young (under 10). If I cycle through like my wife I'll be happy. She's not done with it, but feeling a lot better. I am 5 days behind her on getting it. So she took 5 days to clear it (although still positive).

I think I had a mild case of it right when it first started- bad but not terrible. I got my shots anyhow
