Removing burrs from parallels

Whoa, whoa! Never did wood very well. It always fought me, even in shop class. Sawdust makes me sneeze. However, it does sound like I need a bigger vehicle...
My opinion, stay up in NH. Beautiful up there, and away from the rest of the crazy world. Besides, you'll have Florida weather in 10 years.

I understand where you are coming from. Like it here. It's a slower pace, which is good.

But we're 6.5 hours away from our closest kid. 9 hours from the furthest. That's hard on us. Rather be closer to our children and grandkids.

Is there an interest in stones here ? I've got 48 years worth , I need one for the hatchets and axes . I'll do a bundle up Medium flat rate box . It's a very large collection . It wasn't really on the to do list , but they're here . My days of using these are over .

I would interested in one or two.

There is no need for precision ground stones. Just knock the burrs off with a fine stone, just a few swipes on the edge, and be done with it.
Clearly everyone thinks that because Robin needed it, everyone needs it. got news for everyone, while they are nice, for years no one used them and still we went to the moon, and past the edge of our galaxy.

I'm going to be told I'm wrong, but I've got flame retardant underwear for the flame throwers.

Heretic!!!! ;)
I’m not going to tell you you’re wrong.

I see a lot of guys here sweating stuff that is at best well into the realm of diminishing returns.

Enabling is what we do here. momoney
I ended up getting those stones overnight, they're in the Southern suburbs of Chicago (Crete, IL) and I got the package literally the next day. Was able to smack the burrs off the parallels and get back to leveling the lathe. That's a whole different story though.
