Do you have a close up of the base on your eagle 66?
I just turned a cavity into 3" brass slugs. Then epoxy the base to the slug. I did it on all of my 66 oilers. Works great. They don't tip over.
 
Made up a new backhoe main bucket pin from an old 2.5" driveshaft turned it down to 1.700 to fit the existing center collar.
Took a 'few' passes with the HF 1224 and SCR / PM treadmill motor drive but it did it with no shut downs or overheating.

I am going to add a spiral and reduce the center for a grease zerks hole to feed it

maybe bore out and add a pair of pin supports on the egged out rewelded beat bucket holes as well.

As it is already a major slop reduction.. The PO was using the undersized and worn pin sitting in the gap bed.

ps. my garage is a disaster like usual.

Functional & looks good.

I use these inside my "tippy" oil containers, even the "No Spill" ones:

They add a little weight, but more importantly stick to steel (and any steel chips stick to the magnet, not the Acid Brush I use).
 
Very nice. What are they for?
It works on the wheel hubs of an very old fuel pump,I will ask the owner if he can give me some pictures. In the past it there was a grease nipple on the end,but now it is purely for aesthetic purposes.20240607_081229.jpg

He collects very old stuff. He also have a bucket load of Model T Fords dating back to 1912 he has rebuild himself. I will post about that sometime.
 
Had a go at making a knife handle to fit this old steak knife whose plastic handle had bit the dust.
One piece of stainless to fit the blade end, two halves of aluminium for the handle and 6 brass rivets to hold it all together.

Sandwiched with epoxy and the brass rivets plus a bit of a polish.

Now the big question, why on earth would I go to all this trouble for an el-cheapo small steak knife.
I loved this blade for one reason only, it can slice butter very thinly without sticking to the blade allowing me to very easily place slices of butter on to my toast and on my vegetables to melt quickly.
