Hello everyone,

I purchased a new PM-1236 lathe that will be delivered Monday. I'd like to get some tooling inbound around the same time so I can mess around with it over the next few weeks and Christmas.

Here are some things that I'm looking for suggestions on:

The lathe came with a tool post, but not quick change. Which quick change post should I get?
I want to do basic lathe operations, turning, facing, threading, and boring. What tooling should I get, and what size?
I have heard carbide is the way to go, and that stuff can be had on Amazon apparently. Could anyone make suggestions on what to look for there?

I'm fairly new to the official terms of things, but I have used a lathe before albeit a long time ago. Any help would be appreciated.

My goal is to install the lathe and check the contents next week, and hopefully be turning metal by the end of next week.

Thanks!
