Could use some advise

HHMMMM that is not a terrible idea. Where would you post it? Here?
5:30 and I still have not call back from them.
I was thinking someplace public like YT, since they host videos and it's easy access. Make sure to title it so it comes up on searches by model and vendor, I have no doubt others considering the same purchase would want to see an honest review of the experience. The vendor might find motivation to do right if it's public, especially if you keep it clean and stick to the facts in your umm... documentary.

Well I appreciate your input. I will give them another day and then I just might do this. I am not big on videos but I am not into ghosting either.

I'm a customer support tech for a pretty large company and I make every effort to put myself in our customers shoes. 99% of the time I fight for them and not my company and I have made some good customers because of it. Would not have it any other way and don't understand why people struggle with that concept. Guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot bad words would have been spilled by now!

FWIW, Charlie's been pumping out YouTube setup videos for the 728 mill and a new 1340 lathe video just posted today, so I suspect he's been occupied with that. I've had a call in to him since Monday and haven't heard back yet but will call again today.

not sure why it would take that long. I've ordered a number of things from overseas and they haven't even taken 2 weeks. got some parts from France in 3 days. covid is over.
I have a bad feeling about what we are going to be dealing with from China, it is a mess over there.

You can also call and ask for Mike or look up MikeWi on this forum.

My 1440 geared head also has what could be excessive gear noise in certain speeds but not all. I drained mine to clean out the gearbox when almost new and now use 30w motor oil with no problems. By chance is this the lathe you have.View attachment 511970View attachment 511971Thanks.
That lathe looks strikingly similar to the Victor 1340 and 1440. They look like Colchester clones.
