Need a gantry crane for a one time use.

WE HAVE A ROCK!!!!!
My rock arrived today. That is a 1 ton P/U squatting under the load.

They brought the heavy artillery to move it. Was pretty tight maneuvering the crane with all of the wires.

We have Lift off. That hanging chain snapped just as I took the pic. The rest of the chains held so they kept going.

It's flying now. Watch your toes. If it falls now the trailer will be toast.

Touch down. Made it safely.

Its new home. This pic was about 2 hours after sunset, you can see how well lit the corner is.

The truck and trailer were owned by the landscaper that delivered it. I did mention to him that it should have been a bit farther back. Once he got to my house he agreed with me. At least half of the rocks weight was on the truck, plus what ever the tongue weight of the trailer is.

So the small rock that you put in front of the house, where is that in relation to the new rock?
Can't figure out what's what. Your Red truck is in the rear of your house?

The rock looks awesome! I am a little concerned that standing up like that it will tip over if it gets hit?

Congratulations!
Looking at that last picture, I suggest swapping vehicles in those parking spaces. I wouldn't like to see a photo of the rock "rocked" back and leaning on a red fender. The black car is a much smaller target.
Let us know what you think in a month or two.
Good luck.

The "small" rock is in the extreme North West corner of the lot and the new rock is in the extreme South West corner of the lot. They are both on the alley that crosses in front of the truck. Yes the truck is in the very back (South end) of the lot facing West.

Congratulations!

The truck is 15 years old with a quarter million miles on it. The little car is new with 15K miles, so it gets more protection. The little car is also the wife's car, I still can walk slightly better than her so she gets to be closer to the house.

With the narrow top and wide base, it has a pretty low center of gravity. Between that and the sheer weight, it will not be easy to tip.
My truck is also parked just farther away than the rock is tall. Just in case I miscalculated its tip-ability.

That rock looks fantastic . Good choice.

Bloody hell, that's quite the rock!

Looks really nice, aesthetically speaking, too.

I don't have any problems like yours but I'd like a couple of those out the front of my house, either side of my driveway; it would be quite imposing!
