Major Fire Near Chico California

Death penalty with one stipulation- sentence carried out in 24 hours.

We are comfortably ensconced at Bella Vista. Private quarters with freshly installed A/C, our own kitchen, bathroom etc. The cat seems not to care as long as she is with us.
Northward movement of the fire is stalled about 3 miles south of Manton, has been for about 2-3 days. It's still 8-10 miles from our place and the Ponderosa (2012) burn scar is between us and the front. We're pretty optimistic at this point as long as a south wind doesn't take over.

Hoping for the best for everyone effected.

Did they release a motive?

It’s great to hear that you are comfortable in your temporary digs. And the cat is happy :)
That burn scar may just save the day for some of its Northern progress.
Are those logging patches?

Yes, that patchwork is 20 acre logging cuts.

Current info is that the northern front is pretty much out. Latest activity is east and west along hwy 36 and south.
The activity on the west has caused some concern and prompted a few more evacuation orders and warnings on the hwy 44 corridor west of Shingletown.
