Many years ago I came upon a bottle full of tool bits in oil to prevent rust in a damp climate (Tomales Bay Area) they were fro the estate of a man who worked in a shop in SF Cal. that closed in 1925 I think, they were all identified as Allegheny Ludlum "Super Panther" This was excellent stuff, and is of the T5 category, I used for years before going to insert carbide for most work, I still do have some of it in 7/16 square bits.+1 on the REX95 or any of the REX flavors.
I’m very fond of the tool blanks, they are an excellent quality domestic old school manufacturer . I found a box of mixed hss blanks, the REX is prized
