Buying a used car on line

I bought a 66 Corvette about a year ago from an out-of-state private party. I flew to the sellers location, made the transaction at his bank and had it notarized on site, then made arrangements to have it transported. If you don't want to make a trip to look at the car in person, there are escrow companies that specialize in this type of transaction. They aren't cheap, but cheaper than paying for a car that you never get. By the way, this was the second flight I took to look at a car. The first one didn't work out. Anyway, just my two cents.

The guy will eventually get what is coming to him from someone who isn't as dignified as you! Beautiful car by the way!

Could have been worse. How is the car? Do you like it? I always wanted a Corvette
Do beautiful women throw themselves under the tires? I mean at your feet?

Hi, It's been really nice to on the highways but a little stiff for the streets here. But overall I enjoy it. In answer to your question about women throwing themselves under the tires, Their only under my tires because I never saw them when they were in the crosswalk and hit them. Thanks. Charlie.

I totally get the struggle of purchasing a car out-of-state. It's not always feasible to make a trip in person to check it out, but it's definitely important to take precautions to avoid getting scammed. I agree that using an escrow company can be a good option. I actually bought a car from out-of-state last year and used a transport company to get it delivered.
