AR's

Here is how to make them full auto legally too. http://tacfirecon.com/ (not affiliated) just thought you may want to know. I am however trying to become a dealer for them once they get all of theier pre-orders filled. comes with all of the paperwork from the ATF and the paperwork is on their site to read. How it works legally is when you hold the trigger it will move your finger as well as the trigger forward every shot, thus resetting the system onto the sear every time making it still considered a semi-auto. It is a drop in trigger system like a Timney trigger and you put in a multi select safety. THis allows you safe, semi, and full positions on the lower. Very cool and all I know is "I gotsta get me one of these!"

kkcalvin is correct search out Palmetto State Armory right now, they have fully complete lowers with Mag Pul furniture for 169.00 in FDE, Green color and black and maybe one other color. I take the trigger group out and do a trigger job on them and can get the pull weight down to 3-4 lbs instead of 8-9 lbs They have complete uppers with free flat barrels with quad rails with BCG and charging handle for 399.99 that is a complete AR for 569.00 with Magpul furniture. That is a steal! You should be able to turn it for 800 with a cheap optic.

PSA is local to me and they make top quality stuff. but 49.99 isn't a regular price. and when they have the 50.00 sale the lowers just don't last.

Palmetto State Armory has Anderson lowers on sale for $49.99, I never heard of this manufacturer but I has pretty good reviews.

Keep in mind that if you buy a complete receiver it will have to go through a FFL dealer which will charge you for transfer ($10-$50 or more). You can find a local dealer at gunbroker.com http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx

Jack squat flat spot have weldable ar 15 lower for $25.00 $6.00 flat rate shiping

Palmetto has complete assembled lowers with Magpul furniture for $149.99 You can't build one for that and then they have complete uppers with full auto BCG's 1-9 twist 16" mid length barrel, charginf handle and quad rail for 399.99. GThat gets you into a complete AR minus optics for 550.00. Do a trigger job and then they have front and rear machined BUIS on sale for 80.00 and get a holo site for 40-80 bucks....you are into a a nice AR very very cheap. You can turn it for 850-900 easy. Yes, it is all in stock, I just ordered it all.

I cannot see buying a 25.00 bunch of pieces of stamped steel to spend hours tig welding it together when I can spend 20 more to have a forged aluminum one already finished. My time is worth much more than 20.00/hr

That tackfire thing sounds like a Gatling gun that needs to be cranked faster!!

I can get finished lowers right now 7075 T-6 Forged for 49.99 unless I wanted a unregistered gun, I wouldn't mess with a 80% lower for 100 bucks or more.

I agree, get a properly numbered 100% lower, pay for the background check, then enjoy building the rest of the gun around it without the worry of ever being caught with an un-numbered gun.

in the start of the thread. the man ask about 80% build it not about buy a ar lower it about building a lower .it is your right to build a firearm you stamp you name in the lower reciver. become familiar with the current Federal, State, County and city/township laws regarding firearms. in my state I is legal to build a ar15

Everyone wants to save as much as they can while still getting a good product, but building an AR or machining a lower from an unfinished blank isn't as much about economics as it is building or making it on your own with your own personal touches. Different areas have different laws and in some places, building an unfinished lower may be the only way someone gets to own an AR. Others don't have machining capabilities but can weld and grind. The flat builds are ideal for them.

Here's a ton of info on the flat builds and others. Makes for great reading even if you're not into the weld-up kits.

The whole section is full of good info, but be prepared to spend some time there. It kinda sucks you in.

As for 'un-numbered lowers', I don't know a lot about the legality of these, but I'm pretty sure you can home build anything you could otherwise legally own. It's up to the individual to check the Fed and local requirements for compliance.

Personally, I have an FFL and can buy finished receivers at a bargain rate, but I also enjoy building from scratch and reading about others projects.
