Last Sundays project, test fire this weekend. 300 AAC Blackout upper. The 80% Billet lower came from Precision Arms Mfg.

I'm getting my new mill set up and the VFD wired up, but I needed to do something with the pallet and plywood it came in, so I replaced my small 2x4 bench with a new and more robust 3x5 bench. I'd guess 80%+ is shipping material, and the rest is the old bench (with plenty left over for the fireplace.) Not terribly fancy, but very sturdy and easy to resurface when needed. I just need to seal the top and mount the vises.

That reminds me of Henry Ford and how for the Model T he required some suppliers to use wooden shipping crates to his spec with sizes and holes drilled in certain places. He then used the crate pieces for floorboards in the cars.

Brilliant!! And they literally were floorboards.

Sorry. No picture...but I just finished welding an 8' long x 16" high x 1/4" thick backstop on the back of my welding/work bench. The bench is on wheels....my intention was to be able to pull it out from the wall if I ever found it necessary to put something on it that's wider than the bench. Of course, on the shelf that's built under the bench is about 1000 lbs (or more) of various bits of metal. There's no way I'm ever going to pull that thing out of there, and I got fed up with fishing various dropped items out from behind it. Problem solved. :)

After I finished my tachulator sensor mount I made up a quick stop for my vise jaws. This helps a lot when you are making multiples of something and doing repetitive operations.

Finishing up a plumb bob for a friend. Brass/bronze/rosewood. About 5lb. Main piece is done, need to mak the tip still and drill out the end for the string.

What do you do with old rollerblade wheels, scrap aluminum and a new welding table? Make a set of rollers for welding around tubing of course....

I hope the brass v-block will give a decent ground path....
