Who makes decent small screwdrivers

The bits should be hard but not too hard. It's not good to save a cheap bit over possibly irreplaceable hardware. I'd rather bust a bit than a fastener.

I have never seen the ifixit sets in a wood box. How old is your set and do you know if they are hardened?
Yeah, I came here thinking the same thing. My set is in a plastic tray with foam for holding the bits. I've been happy with my ifixit kit and wanted to see if anyone had a better suggestion.

Lots of recommendations already, but I have this Klein set. Works great.

I have a set of small Klein screwdrivers that are soft mild steel. Klein has started selling low end consumer tools that look just like the professional line but the quality is worse than no-name import tools. It is difficult to figure out which products are pro and which are consumer grade junk.

Klein is not Klein anymore, it's a badge now used on import junk. The old stuff is excellent. I wish they would let old brands die with dignity instead of milking their trademarks for recognition. It's a sin.

Thanks so much. I had never heard of Vessel before. I found a nice set of Vessel jewelers screwdrivers TD-56S on Amazon that will work perfectly.

Looking for flat blade standard screwdriver bits that can be ground to parallel sides.

Needed for Atmos clock screws.

Foud a set on Amazon to try.

Big fan of Moody tools.

If you want the very very best, feel like spending a small fortune, and they offer what you need, MIP tools or Scorpion tools. They're aimed towards the high end RC world & you flat out will not find a better fitting or more durable tool than MIP. Many RC heli folks go for Scorpion b/c of the distributor, add they make equally fine tools, and also sell some miniature thread chasers that can be incredibly valuable if you need them.

I had to have Whia go pick tools off the floor that were at the high end of standard tolerances on their smallest size hex bits which they did for free, but you'll never need to do that with MIP or Scorpion.

And of course the usual suspects already mentioned:

Whia

Wera

Chapman (these being made to shear before breaking screws can be a godsend especially on the so floor, but does necessitate having spares on hand)

I have a few Xcelite screwdrivers I love.
Old Xcelite is fantastic, but stay away from the ”modern” Chinese stuff.

Big fan of Moody tools.
+1 for Moody. The fixed blade ESD screwdrivers are fantastic!

I don’t know if Facom has JIS drivers in their Microtech series, but these are also worth checking out :geek: Expect to pay top dollar tho’
