What Did You Buy Today?

I have a leak in my truck’s AC. No luck finding it with dye and a black light. I pray it’s not in the evaporator. I picked up a leak detector from HF. I have the cheesy vacuum pump from them that uses an air compressor and it’s worked fine but I found this Dayton Speedair on CL for $50 and couldn’t pass it up. I won’t be able to tackle this fix for another week or so. Fingers crossed it’s easy.D2161E42-E273-4467-9CEB-6F45E982F2E8.jpeg

I am a sucker for things like this:

A nice set of Morse center drills, in the wood case. A nice way to keep them organized, and these are unused. Not the cheapest, but I have been selling stuff on the 'Bay, and using the proceeds for things like this.

I don’t really buy any tools or equipment anymore, but my friend Jack gifted me this old book on stick welding today.

I love old books on welding. I have about 20 old books on welding on my eBay watchlist, but I would probably never buy any of them due to current financial constraints.

Would that be Cardin Tools, haven't been there in a while.

Actually "Cardon Tools":
https://cardontools.com/

....and on ebay under "jrwoodca":
https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_fss=1&_saslop=1&_sasl=jrwoodca&LH_SpecificSeller=1

I have NO financial interest in the place, other than they are my local new/used tool store.
They are a great family run business, and I do consider them friends; I dealt with three generations in there today.

I got the 5/8 and 3/4" reamers I needed, the pyrometer I was considering, and a Metabo cordless sander.

You never know what they'll have and "new stuff" appears regularly.

I love the place!

FB Marketplace score (for somebody).

EDIT: FB post deleted in one hour. It was a stack of 3 drawing drawer units (about 15-20 drawers). About 4 feet wide x 3 feet deep. Drawers had dividers installed and loaded with nuts/screws/washers/misc. The dividers appeared to be OEM (not micky mouse) with label holder channels. FREE for the first to come. It was in Sun Valley, CA (Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley). I bet there was a traffic jam, LOL. Hope no one got run over.

I picked up another good box of brazed carbide tools. These are the most useful in 3/4" RH. They are ready to cut out of the box, and can still be re-ground. Compared to inserts, it takes a lot to boof up one of these. For the $2-4 each that I've been paying, that's a lot of tool life when you figure these can take a lot of regrinds before they're wasted.
