What Did You Buy Today?

Walker Turner on stand on WT stand. What do you guys think. Craftsman stand that it came on or the WT stand? This stand also came with a Sears disconnect box.
Can you turn the saw 90 degrees and mount the motor in the W-T cabinet? That would be nifty, especially if the access panel lets you manage the belt. I'm not a fan of the Erector Set Craftsman stands, they rock and sway until you weld them solid.

I would love to put the motor inside the stand. But It's just barely too big. I wonder if they make a shorter, "Pancake" style motor? IDK. I haven't really messed with it yet. Just got the stand today.

Do you mean turn the saw like in the last pic?

Hey. That saw looks just like the one I just bought,,,lol.

Actually. I thought I missed it. The seller jerked me around all week end. Said it was mine on Thursday, can pick up Saturday. Well they didn't reply to me anymore until Tuesday. Turns out they promised it to more than one person. I think they were wanting bids? Who knows,,,lol.

What sucks is when they quit replying to me I went and bought another saw. It's a nicely built Gilliom 12'' band saw. The guy I bought it from was the original builder. Had SOOOO much paper work it's unreal. He lived right by Gilliom.

I should have told the WT seller to stick it. But I really did want that saw,,,lol. So I swallowed my pride and went and got it. It's on a nice vintage Craftsman stand. It also has the Craftsman "Power Panel" switch. So that makes up for over paying.

I was also able to score a Walker Turner stand. I think it's a planer stand? But I'm going to see if I can get the WT's married up?

Here's a few pics of the band saw's I now seem to have falling out my arse,,,lol. This Walker Turner will go great with my 1936 Walker Turner drill press and 1936 Atlas metal lathe.

I picked up a small vise this morning...

It has six inch jaws... it originally had pipe jaws also, but they are missing.

As Crocodile Dundee would say "that aint a vise, THIS is a vise" :)

I might have a set of pipe jaws that would work with that. Remind me in late May/ early June when I head back to Texas and I'll have a look

Newbie to the site. I've got a lot of reading to do. I've been sort of collecting old stuff, an eclectic mix of machinery that I just like.
DSCN1117.JPG It all started with this! It's almost 100 years old, it came out of a garage in my hometown, and was headed to the dump in 1975 when I got it. It's a Sunnen bushing grinder/honing machine. The old mechanic bought it to fit kingpin bushings once Ford came out with the Model A. And I just can't help myself sometimes. If it is headed to the scrap yard and I can save it, well what can I say...

It's a sickness I tell you! A sickness. And I know that everyone here suffers from the same wonderful affliction! My pictures are haphazard and in random files. I'll post more as I find them. And if I don't keep going down all of the rabbit holes on here! What a better way to NOT get to the honeydo list...
