What Did You Buy Today?

Maybe I’ve been watching too much of Cutting Edge Engineering (Curtis) on youtube, but these round insert and holders looked interesting.

Obviously this is the tiny version.

How strange... I just pick up a 12m holder and a 6mm holder (for tight confines) myself.

Going to see how good/bad they are later but sitting waiting on FedEx to deliver a parcel...

I bought one a while back and it leaves an amazing finish. It was a amazon no-name special but it works quite well. I use it as much as my DCGT tool holder with the Aluminum cutting inserts as it leaves a nicer finish on some stuff. It was on my list of things to try and i'm glad i did.

Then the force is strong with you :D . Being a newbie, I am easily influenced. Just ask the folks here... lol

I don't let outside influence decide what I spend money on, never have..... Unless it was/is to ***k someone over (from a different hobby, long story!)

Then again, if I see a tool in use that solves a particular need or problem I face, then that is different.

I made one of those in a brazed on a while back. I had a bunch of round carbides to braze, so figured I might as well.

Not possible to watch too much of him. I’m inspired to make a big one insert tool holder for button inserts like he did last week. But then again, I do work on same type of equipment than he does, so I know his challenges in the tooling. I think I bought the round insert holders to try because I seen him use them all the time.
