Viability of welding cast cross slide tool post?

I have a stripped compound for atlas 12” in my parts box.

Think it would be too tall. About positive it would be. My bad.
 
I have one from a later 12", I can get dimensions later

Overall dimensions are 3-3/16in wide 5-5/8in long. from the bottom of the slide to the top of the t slot is 1-1/2". The depth of the dovetail is 5/16in. The width of the dovetail is 1-1/5in

My old Atlas came to me with a broken and repaired top slide. It was functional, but I eventually replaced it for $45 delivered off eBay. Lots of Atlases get parted out and sold there, might be worth a look.
 
Overall dimensions are 3-3/16in wide 5-5/8in long. from the bottom of the slide to the top of the t slot is 1-1/2". The depth of the dovetail is 5/16in. The width of the dovetail is 1-1/5in
Some of the measurements seem close. But the t-slot is a whole 1/2” taller. And it’s about 3/4” overall wider but I don’t know as that would matter. Hmm. I might have a bead on another 9-303 for it.

Causing does in fact still have them. But they want a good chunk for it.
