Today's Jokes - 2024

@Gaffer

Sorry, not being American, I don't get the reference.........
It is a store that requires a membership to be able to purchase there. Items tend to be larger in size. They have several different sections (groceries, households, clothes, etc.) and there is really no way to go in there and not spend US$300-500.00 on each visit.

@GrifterGuru Costco is a very large membership warehouse that sells everything. It never fails, at least for me and people I know, that you always leave spending much more than you intended. Most Costco or Sam's Club members will appreciate the joke. Do you have a similar retailer in your country?

@wachuko @Gaffer

We have Costco in the UK, so aware of membership costs. It was the Blueberry reference that had me at a loss...

The joke is going there to buy a $10 item, blueberries for example, and end up spending hundreds.

That, literally, sounds like me Going into Wickes (<< link) for a cheap can of emulsion, going over to the Toolstation counter to check the latest catalogue and walking out, on average, £200+ lighter.

Well remember the day I ordered near £1200 of items from toolstation and walked there and back TWICE to collect it all as I do not drive and refused to take a high value Original Raleigh Chopper and lock it up outside. Ended up with a total of four miles of excercise! Just wish they would have delivered it, but it was all "collect only" for some reason.

I can beat those stories.
This is absolutely true.
My wife and I went out just to buy a bottle of milk.
Driving past the Suburu showroom we saw a Forrester for sale, end of financial year so a lot cheaper.
We drove it home.
Our daughter is still driving that car and often relates the story as the bottle of milk car.

At least you got the milk... I once went out to buy a mop... came back with a used Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo... and no mop.
