Not a joke.
I've been looking at some youtube vids of various American cities taken in the 50's and 60's.
Two things stood out instantly to me.
One was the variety of car styles and colours (if they were not colourised) and the other was
99% of the people were slim.

much less processed food, more manual labor, less soft life, and extra money on hand.

They didn't have the internet back then.
They also had shame, integrity and humility.

Back then, depending on where one lived and how big a town, many, if not most folks, actually had to WORK for a living.
