Thoughts on a new Vertex VU-200 tilting rotary table for $825 shipped?

If your heads tilts or nods can't see a reason for a tilt model . 4 slots are best . Weight issue on a tilt while young wasn't too much but changes as we age . I had the pair of 10 inch Walters , the non-tilt I kept and it was a bear to lift up 35 years ago . It stayed on the BP along with the vise unless I had to remove it for a large job . At 110 lbs , I hope you have young strong sons . :big grin:

Edit . 38 years ago . getting old sucks .

It’s just me at 42 y/o so I’m thinking non-tilting would be best

I just looked at your mill . Does that head tilt ? If not , you may want to look for a smaller tilting table if you need to .

It does tilt but it’s kind of a PITA compared to a Bridgeport.

Go with the non-tilt would be my opinion . :encourage: Tramming in a tilt table , picking up centerline etc is a workout in itself.

Just an FYI if anyone goes to order from the Hamilton Tool & Supply website it seems that there's an issue where if you choose PayPal to get shipping costs PayPal hits your CC before you actually finalize it on the website.

I guess that means that I have a 4-slot Vertex HV-8 heading my way

I've emailed them to make sure I'll be getting the 4-slot since I don't really want the 3-slot for the cost compared to what I could get it for elsewhere.
