Swapping from a 143T to a 143TC motor

That’s correct, the fan end gets the wave spring. Since the drive end bearing is captured, the expansion is compensated by the wave spring in the fan end.

I did find it interesting that the bearings were mismatched in regards to manufacturer of the bearings. Someone else changed the FAG bearing in. In all my experience with baldor motors , i have not seen the brand in their products as an oem bearing.

I wouldn’t doubt it. Who ever did that was probably the same person that did not seat the bearing all the way down. I ordered both ABEC 1 C3 clearance SKF bearings to replace them. I will be in California visiting my daughter when they arrive but I currently have the saddle and cross slide torn down for cleaning and inspection right now so it’s not like I can use it anyway. It should be jamb up when I get it back together though

The only thing that sucks is I have a drawbar project to do for my mill. Requires quite a bit of lathe work. Guess that will have to wait as well

Just letting you know ow what I found. It was the rear bearing that was bad
