Small CNC mill choices

there is an excellent Teensy breakout board option here:

I ordered one of those boards. Thanks again.

I agree! Thanks David. I also just ordered a Teensy 4 and breakout board.

I have a PM-30mv waiting for CNC action. It has a Bridgeport-clone big brother now, allowing the experiment. I agree with some of the comments above about starting with an older machine and rehabbing controls, but I: will enjoy the building process and already have the machine; have no real need for a CNC machine but would enjoy the capability; and have other ideas I’d like to do with CNC.

Happy to have helped!
Definitely keen to see how you get on :)

I received the breakout board. It's well-designed and went together easily.

I have one major caution about it (actually about the Teensy, not the breakout board): There are 6 pins (3x2) that connect from the Teensy 4.1 to the main board. These conduct signals for the Ethernet port. The problem is that the Teensy board's solder pads for these pins are incredibly tiny on the top of the Teensy, to the point that soldering them from the top is iffy. I can't observe the bottom of the board at the moment since it's soldered in now, but it may be easier from the bottom. In any event, be especially careful with those connections.
