POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

I dunno, Matt, you can still degrease and pressure wash that engine so you can see where the leaks are and aren't coming from. Sorry, pet peeve of mine that runs strong. I won't touch a nasty undercarriage or engine with a wrench. That got old back when I was a teenager. I pressure wash everything with each oil change, it makes life a lot easier for you and whoever does your troubleshooting and mechanic-ing.
It's allot better than what it was. I know where the two main leaks are coming from. One set is from the output seals of the transmission. I wish I had realized they were leaking when I replaced the CV axles as they're sure as $hit not getting done now. There's no way of getting the driver's side axle out without destroying it and that seems like a lot of work/expense for a small leak.
The other set is from the oil pan gasket and that will get replaced at the next oil change in a month or two. The replacement gasket is on the shelf waiting. Then I'll go to the effort and mess of cleaning the engine/ under carriage
What’s a “fungus”?
The van is called the Humongous Fungus, as it had sat with an open driver's window for nearly a year.
I've used piece of HSS lathe tooling with an 13mm open wrench to retract that style tensioner.
That would work too!

yeah, blame my idiot brother in law for that. I used so much vinegar to defungify it that I smelled like a back of salt and vinegar crisps by the time I got back from Georgia
oh from GA it had enough humidity to really cook that fungus... can you ever get rid of it ... it's part of that living fauna in the car..:frown 2:

Keep forgetting to post this, tried making a collet chuck back plate out of a cheap cast iron back plate.

Trepanning went well

Threading not so much (though I now realize my compound was at 60.5deg, doh!)

Gave up and started with a fresh piece of material. Anybody want it for the price of postage? Partially cut 1-1/2 x 8tpi threads, bit over 3" diameter, over 1" thick but I can't remember by how much. Wouldn't take much to get it useful, but I have no need of it

You friend is gonna haul all that stuff into the woods? He'll need a quad or a jeep to transport it so why not put the winch on that?
