POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

I don't know why @GoceKU does that in under 20 minutes...;) as a matter of fact, A formula 1 team would be lucky to pick him up. AND then he wouldn't have to work on his family cars anymore  They believe in the I break you fix .. and he does.
Haha, formula 1 team can't deal with the students on my daily job they are just too slow to react, mechanics are easy for me.

Today i finish the repairs on this car, change the engine and gearbox oil, filters, this time i used Lukoil (russian oil) it's always funny how they put avtovaz( LADA ) first for the specification. Charged the A/C, drove it found out the thermostat is bad, had to change it, drove it some more had a wheel wobble. Found one of the rear rims was bend, changed it. Drive it some more and now is ready to be used. I hope this is the last engine i have to put in this car, this it's 3rd engine.

Designed a castle wrench for those chineese leveling casters: Footmaster clones

They have a weird plastic adjustment knob instead of the hex nut adjustment like the original.

Initially I 3D printed it out of PLA but it was not strong enough. It kind of works, but not reliable.

So I had it laser-cut at a local company out of 4mm steel sheet metal

It came out beautiful, except for the letter punching (my handywork). The metal is suprisingly hard so I struggled a bit there

Not machining but a millwright project.
A chap has a small hydro electric plant about a half hour away. I worked on it a couple of times.
He rebuilt the dam last summer, new hemlock cribbing and decking, and 700 tons of rock.

He had to replace the motor that acts as a generator when spin backwards. Replaced the old totally enclosed one with a new Westing House open frame 75 hp 3 phase unit.
Had to align the shives and set the belt tension for him.

Was making 62 KW when I left. Can make up to 70 but the water level in the outflow channel was backed up, reducing the head.
