I took the spindle out of the bottom of the quill so that I can inspect the bearings.
What is the best way to inspect the bearings?
Do I clean them in kerosine and feel them when rotated by hand?
They appear to be angular contact bearings, but I’m not sure,
will there likely be a sleeve between them inside the spacer?
Is there anyway to add more preload if they are indeed loose?
Do those double O-rings look like the proper grease seal to you? It used to drip and spray grease before….
Thanks to you all in advance
And lastly, this is probably a longshot , but does anyone have a spindle with an R8 taper that they would sell to me? (This one is MT3)
