For lathe, M-DRO or DRO PROS?

where this coolant hose mount used to be (I took it off a while back).

probably kind of unorthodox. never see this.
Will save festooning some of the cables; I would keep it as far away from the swarf zone as possible, so on the adjustable rod.

My setup is obviously smaller, but I mounted my TouchDRO tablet on the headstock of my Mini-Lathe:

taking advantage of the BlueTooth interface and running on battery power when in use (the tablet mount is on a camera dovetail so I move to tablet to a safer location for charging).

just went and mocked it up with a couple of hose clamps temporarily. the first location is too close to the work. the 2nd one I kinda like. if I do this the cables will never move as the cross slide reading head will be of course on the saddle and the carriage reading head (I guess that is X-axis) will also be hanging down from the back of the saddle or cross slide. both read heads, the cables and the display will move together.

off course the electrical cable will swing back and forth from the electrical receptacle..

Looks like it would be for the R-8 collets on a mill, so not needed. You will need to make a riser block for arm that attaches to the DRO display.
I grabbed an R8 from my mill cabinet and you are correct. thanks.

Carriage is "Z" and Cross Slide is "X"

thanks, I always screw that up.
I get which is which, but the + and - are what I usually get wrong (or I work under a different convention; yes, that's it).
