Yeah.....they sure made a mess out of this one. I can see there are a couple points where you could take a wrong turn hooking it up.
Let me cogitate on it a bit and get back to you shortly

Yours is definitely the earlier one 5K460A not the BC model which looks to be much later (1965 vs 2010)
The problem is the hookup diagram they gave you doesn't match either of those- it's for a similar model called 6K490

OK here is the deal: the red wire from the start (aux) winding needs to be disconnected from pin 3 of the thermal button and brought out to the drum switch. Far left lower dotted line on the enlarged view below is the one I'm referring to.
Pin 3 of the thermal button should still connect to the main winding green wire, via terminal post "2" it looks like.
And then the white and yellow are also brought out as before- then the diagram they gave you should work.

Thanks Mark, I’m gonna give a whirl later today. I will let you know how it went. Thanks for your research into this. Granger must job manufacture around and change design along the way.

Good deal, I'll keep an eye out. Some of these designs go way back- I think the 5K460A is actually 1963 not 65 :) Emerson was the mfg.
I think this one takes the cake for the most convoluted. Obviously, connecting a reversing drum switch was not in the plan for this model

Good news finally got around to hooking up motor and thanks to you a successful operation. Family 4th celebration was longer that expected but nice , hope you had the same. I did have to switch green and blue to match motor and switch rotation orientation , but I thought that might be the case. Thanks once again for your time and help.
