Beauty in The Beast: Webb 5BVK Barn Find/Conversion

You can see from the pic above - when the table moves out - it clears the top cog by only a fraction of an inch/few mm.
That table should only move to the edge of the knee at its full range. It should never get close to the top pulley.

I haven't forgotten about you. I'll get some drawing out soon. Do you have documentation for those servo drives?

Jim,
You are correct - the front (Y axis) stops just as it reaches the front.

However - the table goes ~8”ish over the x axis pulley.

In any event, the wheels will sit just below the two axis. Think it’s going to be nice to operate when moving manually.
That will likely come in play when I need very subtle adjustment after lower moving the larger distances.

I’m thinking the large wheel will give nice finite control.
We will see…

Drives - unfortunately came without documents. Some password info is on the back

The X axis ball screw is fixed to the saddle? Never seen that before. OK, I guess putting the wheel on the motor will have to do. We'll just cut the acceleration back a bit to account for the large handwheels.

Can you see any part/model numbers on the servo drives?

You can see it here - though its the side without the cog. The table sits on the saddle with dovetail that just clears the lead screw's bearing holder. No room for handles here or on other side where cog resides.

Do you mean the actual servo motors? See below.
(assume you don't mean the Gallil controller)
I'll get my hands around the nomenclature before the is all done...

Servo drives are item 2 in the panel picture

You will also need to buy a couple of these relay boards, 24V

And a 24V power supply

and a 5V power supply

And some DIN rail

I’ll order.

Slid out one of the drive boards.
Here are the numbers I pulled off.

Did you get any electrical documentation with that machine? I would really like to see a schematic.

It was a bit of a miracle that there was an owner's manual shoved in the bottom of the box - but it gives no info on electronics.
Just mechanical parts.

Webb is still around.
I will call them in the morning - on the odd chance they still have a PDF copy on any of the electronic info.

Saw you sent some files for download. Will set those aside in their own folder.
Tks!
