IR made great pneumatic tools. so did Chicago Pneumatic. you can put a rebuild kit in that impact wrench and it'll probably work like new. likely the vanes are worn. I kitted an old snap on 1/2" (Sioux Williams Air Tools) and it works great now.

Nah—I’ve already installed a rebuild kit. The shell is too worn and it leaks too much air around the vanes.
But the rebuild did wonders for the half-inch CP impact wrench. I bought that one new in about 1978, so I know its history, but the 3/4” wrench was a hand-me-down from a truck mechanic.
