A DECENT CHUCK???

With a chuck that small I would choose strictly on price- don't worry too much about quality. None of the majors make anything that small
so it will be China made and hopefully at least passable quality
thats kinda what I had in mind besides I dont do anything serious just 6061 kinda stuff

Check Little Machine Shop, they include a tab showing compatibility with various lathes, including Grizzly. I found a 4" chuck and back plate there for my 7x16 HF.

you mean they have a 4in. chuck with a 3 bolt pattern that fits my back plate bolt pattern on my 7x14

I put a 5” chuck on my 7x14 to make some larger bushings.
Other than being large and heavy for the lathe, it worked.
I still have the chuck and adapter plate, but I sold the lathe years ago.

I’d also suggest a 4 jaw independent chuck 4” diameter, for doing odd shaped work and the ability to dial work in

ya but howbout the 3 studs lining up with the existing back plate??

Am I missing something here? I have neither lathe nor mill, but ......

With a lathe I could turn a new backing plate, with a mill, or perhaps luck and a drill press I could put mounting holes in it.
