7.62 X 39 Bolt action

I originally got my Carcano rifles for converting to 7.62x39 Russian because the case heads are identicle. But my Carcano's turned out to have really fine bore's which shoot surprisingly well. So now i am tempted to cut a barrel back and to chamber it for the 6.5X39 Wildcat. You guys have started my wheels to turning, rehashing my interest in my own project.

You can get unused Yugo SKS barrels still; Zastava has been hammer-forging its barrels since something like 1959.

(probably other sources also, some of which may be cheaper, that was just easy to find)
Do a stub and fit it to the action of your choice, with a stub if/as needed. I have an action only from a Type 38 Arisaka that I would like to do something like this with at some point.

I have built a number of 7.62x39 rifle on Carcano actions. I have also have a number of Japanese rifles converted to 7.62x39. In addition I picked up a couple of MN bolts that were original made for the 7.62x39 cartridge and built up a few of them. Just about and of these actions or any of the 93,95 or 98 Mauser actions would work.
