2016 POTD Thread Archive

Installed a glass panel railing for a customer who had the tile work completed prior to hiring our services. Turned out nice and I had total control of design and color.
3/8" tempered glass with polished S/S glass clamps. Hammer tone paint finish reduced with Xylene to spray. Minor tile work left to close out job.

Hopefully you are replacing all those square titles, they really detract from the foe wood ones.

Thanks guys, he plans on having the square tiles replace to match the wood look. The glass clamps where secured with 5/16-18 thread rivet nuts.
I did have to purchase the tool but it came with metric and SAE dies. All holes where drilled on the mill prior to welding up. Not sure whats up with the last picture ending upside down.

That looks great. I'm going to guess the top clamps are screwed into the bottom of the top rail, and the bottom clamps are secured via a thru hole in the bottom of the bottom rail. Mike

The nefarious upside-down SDAVER mill. You must be an expert at handstands to use this machine or hanging off your hoist by your ankles. Math is troublesome as often your dimensions are inverted.

Oh! Wait! The photos up-side-down! Who woulda thunk!?

"missed it by that much" I can see in the second set of pics that the clamps are 2-piece. Mike

Small win in the sorting stuff out department, got the top of the power hacksaw back on to the base.

only needed to make a small lifting frame that fitted in the room shuffle lots of cast iron about and lift it up slide base under drop it down again , ahhhhh.
